Nerve Conduction
Studies

Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) are performed by placing recording electrodes on the skin over a nerve or muscle. Your provider will then stimulate the nerve using a neural stimulator and the response will be recorded and evaluated by your provider.

Needle Electromyography

Needle Electromyography (EMG) is performed by placing a very thin recording electrode under the skin and into the muscle to be studied. Your provider will then evaluate the electrical signals present in the muscle both at rest and during voluntary contraction.

Diagnostic Ultrasound

Neuromusculoskeletal Ultrasound (NMSKUS) is an imaging technique that provides real-time static and dynamic images of structures within the neuromusculoskeletal system. Your provider will image structures of interest and evaluate the structures both at rest and during motion.
